You Are Not Behind. You’re Being Asked to Choose Differently.

Another core idea from A Course in Miracles that has stayed with me for decades is this. We always have a choice in how we interpret what’s happening.

That matters deeply in midlife.

I work with women who are smart, accomplished, and capable. They’ve built lives. Raised families. Led teams. Carried a lot. And then midlife arrives and (not so quietly) rearranges everything.

What used to work stops working. What used to motivate doesn’t anymore. And many women assume this means they’ve lost something.

What if it doesn’t.

What if this phase is actually asking you to stop running on old patterns and start choosing more intentionally.

I remember my own moment of realizing that pushing harder wasn’t the answer anymore. Not with my body. Not with my energy. Not with my relationships. That didn’t mean I was failing. It meant I was being asked to lead myself differently.

In coaching, I help women move out of autopilot and into choice. That shows up in very practical ways.

Choosing food that stabilizes instead of stimulates.
Choosing sleep as a priority instead of a reward.
Choosing honesty over pretending you’re fine.
Choosing support instead of doing it all alone.

Midlife is not about doing less. It’s about doing what actually works now.

Here’s a simple exercise I give clients. Pick one area of your life that feels frustrating right now. Health. Work. Relationships. Then ask yourself this.
Am I responding from habit or from intention?

You don’t need to change everything. You just need to notice when you have the power to make your own choices.

If this feels familiar, I share more of these conversations inside the Her Turn community. It’s a place for women navigating midlife to get grounded support, clarity, and real guidance without noise. You’re welcome to join us here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/herturnonlinecommunity
